: Art Competition

  1. The 2008 Blue Ridge Wine Festival Wine Competition will accept Commercial entries from wines that use at least 70% North Carolina grown grapes. Amateur entries are open to all states.  Entries in all categories and classifications are open to everyone unless otherwise stated. A Commercial entry consists of: Three 750 ml bottles or equivalent.  An Amateur entry consists of: Two 750 ml bottles or equivalent.  Wines received in bottles other than 375ml, 500ml. or 750ml will not be judged.
  2. All entries must be on official forms furnished by the Blue Ridge Food and Wine Festival, properly filled in and signed, and must reach the Festival office before the specified entry closing date. Entry fees must be enclosed with entry form and paid in US dollars. The form may be photocopied. Entry fees are not refundable. Entry forms and payment must be received by April 1, 2008.
  3. Wines entered that are eligible in more than one category/classification shall be entered and judged in the classification for which it best qualifies. Wines not properly entered may be placed in the proper class based on the decision of the Chief Judge. The same wine may not be entered in more than one category. Each wine's category will be determined by information on the front label.
  4. To qualify for entry in the 2008 Blue Ridge Food and Wine Festival Wine Competition, a wine must be properly entered as produced for commercial sale or amateur status.
  5. Cases of wine sent by mail, freight or express must be prepaid. No wines will be accepted for which carrier charges have not been prepaid. Shipping: Wines will be received from February 25 through April 1, 2008. (Enclose a copy of the entry form)                               All wines entered must be shipped prepaid to:

  6. The Chief Judge and Director reserve the right to create new categories if the number of entries warrant. All medals will be awarded by the judges. The decision of the judges is final.
  7. The Blue Ridge Food and Wine Festival management or its Board of Directors is not responsible for errors in entries. No winery shall be
    entitled to an award which has been disallowed as a result of the winery's error.
  8. All wines entered must be received by April 1, 2008.
  9. All wines submitted become the property of the Blue Ridge Food and Wine Festival Wine Competition. Wineries/entries found in violation of rules or ethical practices will forfeit awards and other privileges as deemed appropriate by the Blue Ridge Wine Festival management and the Chief Judge. Entering wines specifically gives the right for the Blue Ridge Food and Wine Festival management to utilize any brand names or trademarks associated with entered wines in any media or publicity releases including competition results.
